Silicon Valley Accounting Firm Merges Into Moss Adams

The Silicon Valley-based accounting firm Mohler, Nixon & Williams is merging into Moss Adams from the start of next year.

The move has been approved by the partners of both firms.

Mohler, Nixon & Williams has a strong presence among the technology community of Silicon Valley, having set up there in 1989. It has 25 partners and 160 staff overall. It offers tax, accounting, consulting and audit services to public and private firms and individuals. It also has a substantial employee benefit services practice.

The move gives Moss Adams a larger presence in a vibrant technology and venture capital hub – and in a market the firm is “serious about,” said Chris Schmidt, incoming chief executive and current president and COO of Moss Adams.

In spring 2013, the Santa Clara office of Moss Adams will move into Mohler, Nixon & Williams’ office in Campbell, and the San Francisco office of Mohler, Nixon & Williams will combine with the Moss Adams office in the city.

“All Mohler, Nixon & Williams partners and substantially all of its employees are expected to join Moss Adams,” Moss Adams said in a statement.
